Panini Opa is a no-frills spot on Sawmill Road where Greek and Italian flavors come together in a casual, straightforward dining setting. This place leans toward counter-service, so you place your order, grab a buzzer, and settle in to wait for your food to be ready. The atmosphere is relaxed and easygoing, often busy around lunch hours with a mix of locals grabbing a quick yet filling meal.

What stands out here is the generous portion size—perfect for those who want a hearty lunch without fuss. The menu offers a variety of Greek staples alongside Italian touches, but the heartier kebabs and gyros seem to be the crowd’s favorite. Whether it’s a spicy chicken gyro with tzatziki or a classic lamb kebab served over rice with Greek salad, the dishes show a solid commitment to authentic flavors and satisfying combinations.

  • The dining area can get a bit crowded during peak times, making it a lively place where you’re likely sharing a table or hearing friendly chatter from other diners.
  • The service is straightforward and friendly, often with little extras like offering drinks while you wait, which helps make the experience feel welcoming despite the self-serve style.
  • For those wanting to try a little variety, there’s also falafel gyros and fresh-cut fries, which are crisp and well-seasoned, giving a nice counterpoint to the meat dishes.

For visitors or locals looking for an informal spot to enjoy Greek comfort food—and some Italian classics—without the wait and formality of full table service, Panini Opa fits the bill. It’s especially suited to lunchtime visits or quick dinners on the go. Those who appreciate hearty salads loaded with toppings, fresh pita and tzatziki to scoop alongside their meal, or a slice of cheesecake for dessert will find good value here.

Overall, Panini Opa offers a grounded, friendly experience with dependable flavors that resonate with people familiar with Greek cuisine and newcomers alike. Its location near the northern Columbus neighborhoods makes it a convenient stop for anyone heading to or from the Hocking Hills area or just looking for a reliable and filling meal in the city.

Heading to Hocking Hills and stopped here for lunch. Food was amazing and so was the atmosphere. Ordered the spicy chicken gyro but I got the regular gyro but I was nit disappointed. Great place to go!

Always hits the spot. Flaky spanikopita, juicy kebabs, tender lamb chops—plus generous portions at a fair price. You order at the counter, get a buzzer, and grab your tray when it lights up. Leave room for dessert: the carrot cake, lemon cheesecake, and chocolate cake are all fresh and tasty. Friendly crew, relaxed crowd, and an easygoing vibe. My go-to Greek place.

I'm from Kentucky and every time I visit Ohio, Panini Opa is my first choice for food. My gyro is perfect! My sister loves their shrimp gyros. The friendly service is so great they offer you a drink while waiting. The chefs are amazing, I placed my to go order and less than 10 minutes I had my food. 10 stars

Wonderful food with decent prices and excellent serving sizes. Dine-in area can be a little crowded but otherwise, this was a great spot to go to for lunch. The picture is of a Greek salad with grilled chicken added on- I believe the total was around $13 and the salad was absolutely huge! Definitely give this place a try!

Falafel Gyros & Fresh-Cut Fries – A Jedi’s Delight Ordered the falafel gyro to go, and it was amazing—crispy falafel, tender inside, wrapped in warm pita with fresh veggies and plenty of flavor. Even though the spot was busy, the food was ready exactly when promised—no waiting in the shadows. The fresh-cut fries deserve their own shout-out: golden, lightly crisp, and perfectly seasoned. A true sidekick to the gyro—strong with the Force of flavor. Would I return? Without a doubt. Flavor balance like this belongs in the Jedi archives.

It's rare to find a hidden gem in plain sight! I'm so glad my niece suggested this place. I was visiting family in the area for the holidays. Was so pleased with the overall experience! YOU WON'T BE DISAPPOINTED. Staff were so welcoming & accommodating. The chicken gyro was top tier... as the TikTokers say, 10/10. The garlic sauce on it was phenomenal & set it apart. Their calamari rivaled anyplace I've ever had in NJ. We also tried the spicy feta with warm pita and it was DELICIOUS too! Everything was hot & fresh! On my next visit with family, here in Ohio, THIS PLACE IS A MUST!!! 5 stars all around...
